When she started as cashier for the newly opened Mi Pueblo Food Center in Salinas, Perla Rodriguez never imagined that she would one day become a store manager. A few months after, she was evaluated and promoted as a front –end manager at our store in Watsonville, where she worked for three years. There she had the opportunity to learn from several store directors to whom she attributes her professional development. The corporate leadership team noticed Perla’s enthusiasm and leadership and decided to transfer her to a larger store in San Jose. Here she spent several months working as a store manager assistant. Perla, once again, shined in her leadership abilities and was just recently promoted to become the first female store manager at Mi Pueblo in Salinas, CA. It is a great honor for us to congratulate Perla in her promotion and to recognize her as an excellent leader and example to others at Mi Pueblo. Congratulations!
Jorge Villareal began his career at Mi Pueblo in 1994 as a butcher at the first Mi Pueblo Store on King Road. He is officially employee number 16 and was hired when the company had only two stores and about 100 employees. Today, Jorge is the Corporate Meat & Sea Food Director and oversees hundreds of employees within the company. Jorge tells us, “Over the past 15 years, Mi Pueblo has given me many opportunities to succeed and grow. I started with nothing when I came to this country, but thanks to my career at Mi Pueblo, I bought my first house in 1999. With hard work and dedication, everything is possible”. Congratulations to Jorge for his outstanding work at Mi Pueblo and for being an inspiring model for all of us!
